Phil Beder, Treasurer for the group Disabled in Action, is the featured guest on Episode 6 of Ability Fierce airing Sunday at 8:00 p.m. on Brooklyn Free Speech TV. In this episode, we discuss the issues the group is working to address and ask about the lack of younger disabled activists. Since we did the interview, I think I've discovered the answer. The youngsters are on social media, Twitter and the like. This makes we wonder whether the digital divide between older disabled people and younger disabled people might not be worth a story. But anyway, we also talk about difficulties in voting while disabled and other obstacles that keep people with disabilities from holding more sway with politicians.
